I’m so excited to share a gorgeous wedding from last June that I had the absolute pleasure of capturing. Shannon and Matty tied the knot at the Silverwood Resort, in the beautiful Perthshire countryside near Errol. The weather was on our side and the vibe was nothing short of amazing. These two were the first couple I’ve worked with who buried a sausage the night before the wedding to ensure good weather! Turns out it worked perfectly, as we were blessed with sunshine the entire day. Burying the sausage is not a euphemism by the way, the literally went out in the rain, with a spade and buried a pork sausage! I've witnessed it since, and it always works, but these two are the OG Sausage grave diggers!
The day started off with the couple getting ready in separate lodges, each surrounded by their closest friends and family. I love seeing couples in their own space before the big day kicks off. Shannon had such a sweet moment when she did a first look with her bridal party. It was such a special, intimate moment before the ceremony, and everyone’s reactions were priceless.
The ceremony itself was filled with laughter and love. Shannon and Matty’s personalities really shone through – it wasn’t your traditional stiff ceremony; it was fun and light-hearted with lots of smiles and a few happy tears. The confetti tunnel that followed was an a highlight, we also did the classic big group shot followed by some group photos. Perthshire really has some breath-taking scenery, and Silverwood Resort’s location was the perfect backdrop for these memories. I also spent some time with Shannon and Matty for their couple’s shoot, but kept it short so they could go and enjoy the party!
The reception was full of surprises. There was live music, which had everyone tapping their feet, and the ice cream cart was a huge hit with guests – who doesn’t love a sweet treat on a sunny day? As the evening progressed, guests moved indoors for speeches and a tasty barbecue buffet. It was relaxed, fun, and filled with good food and great company.
One of the best parts of the night was the champagne spray we did with Shannon’s bridal crew after dinner. It was such a laugh. Then the dancing started, Shannon even treated everyone to some epic karaoke, shouting 'life is a rollercoaster' with 100% enthusiasm! It’s always awesome when couples let loose and really, genuinely enjoy themselves on their wedding day. The extra hour of dancing photography they booked was totally worth it! It was high energy, and the night was full of so many great moments that I know everyone will remember for years to come.
All in all, Shannon and Matty’s wedding at Silverwood Resort was brilliant to capture. From the warm weather and great people to the high-energy celebrations, it was one of those weddings that left everyone feeling happy and full of love. I’m so grateful I got to be a part of their special day.
