When you get a warm (but slightly wild!) Scottish summer’s day in Perthshire, you just have to roll with it — and that’s exactly what Caitlin and Craig did for their Murrayshall wedding. These two came from Dundee to throw the kind of day that was full of laughter, music, and a few surprises along the way.

As a wedding photographer close to Perthshire, I always love shooting at Murrayshall Country Estate. It’s such a stunning venue — beautiful views over the golf course, loads of hidden corners for couple photos, and that perfect blend of countryside and comfort.

Morning Prep – Two Rooms, Two Tribes

Caitlin and Craig both got ready in different rooms at the hotel, just a few corridors apart. Caitlin was surrounded by her mum, bridesmaid, bridesman, and the sweetest little flower girl. The room was very chilled, with tunes on, and a few emotional moments as everyone got ready. Meanwhile, Craig and his best men were in good spirits — a bit of banter, a few nerves, and plenty of jokes flying about. Caitlin did a first look with her Dad, which was a bit of tear jerker!

The Ceremony in the Function Suite

The ceremony took place in Murrayshall’s function suite, which looked beautiful with soft summer light pouring through the windows. There were a few happy tears as Caitlin walked down the aisle, and before long, the newlyweds were sealing it with a kiss to a round of cheers.

Confetti, Views & Windy Laughs

Afterwards, everyone headed outside for the confetti shower, and we managed to get a huge group shot overlooking the golf club and those classic Perthshire views. The wind was definitely giving us its best effort that day — but it just added to the fun. The guests wisely escaped back inside for drinks while me and my videographer for the day, Maciej, jumped on golf buggies with Caitlin and Craig to head down the course for some couple portraits.

Cocktails and Bridgerton Beats

By the time we got back to the hotel, the cocktails were flowing and the string quartet were in full swing — playing a Bridgerton-style Pitbull tune, no less. Honestly. The girls were already up dancing before dinner was even called, setting the tone for the evening ahead.

Speeches, Singing Waiters & Party Vibes

Everyone gathered for dinner and speeches, full of laughter and lovely stories — and then came the surprise: singing waiters! No one saw it coming, and it took about thirty seconds for the whole room to be up on their feet, waving napkins, singing, and dancing. It’s safe to say that set the tone for the rest of the night — non-stop fun, smiles, and some seriously good moves on the dancefloor.

Golden Hour Goodness

Just before the evening guests arrived, we managed to sneak Caitlin and Craig out for a few quiet minutes together and grab some golden hour photos. The light was absolutely dreamy, and it was a lovely, calm moment before diving back into the celebrations.

The Perfect End to a Perfect Perthshire Wedding

Caitlin and Craig’s day had everything — laughter, surprises, wild wind, golden light, and a dancefloor that didn’t stop. It’s the kind of wedding that reminds me exactly why I love wedding photography in Scotland so much.

If you’re planning your own celebration at Murrayshall (or anywhere!) and are looking for relaxed, natural photography that tells your story exactly as it happened — I’d love to hear from you.
