Occasionally I get wedding enquiry emails that intrigue me and make me want to meet a couple, Nicki and Bruce's email was once of these. It was the sentence that said "we are getting married on Broughty Ferry beach on the 19th December" that made me wonder who are these crazy people? I decided I liked them already... but I like them even more after being at their wedding....

The "getting ready" photos in 2020 were a bit different, Nicki and her bridesmaid had to go out separately to have their hair and make up done but I was able to go to the house to take a few photos of Nicki getting into her beautiful dress. Isn't the back detail on this amazing?

Next stop was Broughty Ferry beach where I found Bruce welcoming his guests, the weather at that point, wasn't bad at all for a December day in Scotland...

Nicki arrived and was walked down the sandy aisle on to Broughty Ferry beach by her Dad to meet her Groom....

A wee rain shower started half way through their Humanist ceremony, thankfully it didn't last all day, but their guests did their best to shelter under brollies and blankets!

A whiskey from the Quaich to warm up before they headed indoors to sign the register, led by a bit of Avicii on the bagpipes to dance back up the aisle to!

The wedding reception was held at the Tayberry Restaurant which is right next to the beach, the upstairs window was the perfect backdrop for signing the register.

The rain thankfully didn't last long so we headed back out to the beach for photos and drinks served by those lovely Tayberry guys...

The sun was starting to set so we walked along towards Broughty Ferry Castle to make the most of the beautiful light and get some photos of the two of them together....

After our wee photo shoot we came back to the Tayberry so the newlyweds could enjoy a drink with their guests before dinner. This was my first wedding at The Tayberry and the set up is perfect for the 20 person limit that was in place at the time. The food looked amazing too!

There were a few short speeches and I left them alone to eat and enjoy the rest of their day. I left thinking maybe these two aren't crazy, a beach wedding in December is great and I'd highly recommend it to anyone!
