October weddings in Scotland can be a mixed bag when it comes to the weather, but Sean and Natalie must have had some serious luck on their side because their big day was blessed with sunshine and not totally freezing temperatures!
The day kicked off in Dundee at Natalie’s parents’ house, where I joined the bridal party for the morning prep. There was such a lovely buzz in the house as everyone got ready, with plenty of giggles and a few happy tears along the way. We did a first look for Natalie’s Dad and bridesmaids, and it was an emotional one! Her dad’s reaction was priceless, and the bridesmaids were lovely, so supportive and full of excitement for their girl.
Meanwhile, my second photographer, Colin, was over at St Mary’s RC Church in Dundee capturing Sean and his groomsmen as they got ready for the ceremony. The church itself is stunning, a truly special place for such an important moment.
After the ceremony, the newlyweds were greeted with a proper confetti shower outside, and the little ones in attendance took things to the next level by making confetti angels on the ground – it was very cute! And of course, no wedding day would have been complete without a special appearance from Freddie, Sean and Natalie’s beloved dachshund, who stole the show (and probably a few treats) during his photos with his Mum and Dad.
Before heading to the reception, we made a pit stop at the East Sands in St Andrews for some couple shots. The views were unreal, with the golden light hitting just right. Sean and Natalie were absolute naturals in front of the camera – no awkward posing here, just love.
The celebrations continued at Falside Mill in Fife, where guests were already enjoying drinks and soaking up the atmosphere. After a few group shots outside, everyone headed in for the speeches, and this is where things got fun. First up was a surprise baby announcement that had the whole room erupting in cheers and happy tears. Then, just as everyone was settling back down, in came the singing waiters! The energy in the room was unreal, with guests up on their feet, waving napkins, and singing along.
As the evening guests arrived, the dancefloor quickly filled up, and the party showed no signs of slowing down. From the cake cutting to the dancing, it was the perfect way to round off an incredible day.
Being a wedding photographer in Fife and Dundee means I get to capture so many beautiful love stories, but this one will definitely stick with me. Sean and Natalie’s day was packed with love, laughter, and a few surprises along the way – all the feels were felt that day!
