Carlyn and John booked me to photograph their wedding in the good old days before Covid 19 was a thing. Their original plan was a bigger wedding at a bigger wedding but over time they decided to keep their original date and go for a smaller wedding at a smaller venue, The Drovers Inn near Forfar in Angus. Carlyn and her bridal party had also booked a gorgeous Air BNB nearby in Oathlaw to get ready in....
I think Carlyn's daughter approved of her Mummy's dress! And with the ladies dressed and ready to go, I headed to The Drovers to find the groom....
The sun was shining and the Groom was dressed and ready! I loved John's outfit, here is his own excellent take on the traditional kilt...
Carlyn and her Bridal Party weren't far behind and it was soon time for their Humanist Ceremony, which was full of laughter (and a bit of vows and ring swapping too)....
Where is the first place you go immediately after you get married? Well.... if you have two young kids who have had to sit still for a while... it is the play park!
While the kids played on the monkey bars and the guests got themselves a drink, I managed to capture some photos of the newlyweds in the garden. It was a sunny day at the end of autumn so the colours were so pretty outside....
In case you are turning your head to read the best knuckle tattoos ever....
A bit of a confetti ambush by their guests before heading back inside...
The ceremony room had been turned around for dinner, they had some pick n mix and cocktails in milk bottles for their guests.
After the cake cutting, there was a few speeches by Carlyn's Dad and the Groom. This was during the 'no music allowed' set of restrictions so there was no dancing at night and I left them to enjoy their dinner (which looked delicious btw so if you are local you should give the place a visit!)
Cheers to Mr and Mrs Blake! If you are local to the Forfar area, they own a brilliant zero waste shop called Autumn Wren which does online ordering too, so check them out if you like nice things and saving the planet.
