What a day this was! Amy and Kaine’s Taypark House wedding was full of laughter, sunshine, and a fair bit of emotion – mostly from their golden labrador, Lenny, who was meant to be the ring bearer but got a wee bit too caught up in the moment. Bless him, he looked the part though!
I started the morning with Amy, her bridesmaids, and her mum in the beautiful Turret Suite at Taypark House. It’s such a cracking spot for bridal prep – loads of light, loads of character, and the buzz of excitement as everyone gets ready. There were laughs, a few happy tears, and plenty of fizz flowing. Meanwhile, Kaine was over in an apartment in Dundee getting ready with his groomsmen, keeping things relaxed and full of banter.
Their humanist ceremony took place out in the hotel’s gardens, surrounded by family, pals, and the most gorgeous autumn sunshine. The setting couldn’t have been better – Taypark House really shines on a day like that. The ceremony was heartfelt, full of love and laughter, and yes… Lenny made an appearance (minus the rings!).
As soon as they were pronounced married, guests gathered at the front of the house for an amazing confetti shower – honestly one of the best I’ve seen. After a big group photo on the grass and a few requested family shots, we jumped in the car with the guys from CAM Media and headed down to Magdalen Green for the couple shoot. It’s one of my favourite spots for couple photos in Dundee – the bandstand, the trees, and that stunning view over the Tay River make for the perfect backdrop for natural, relaxed wedding photography. Amy and Kaine were total naturals, just enjoying each other’s company and having a laugh.
Back at Taypark House, the reception kicked off in The Stables, and the vibe was unreal. Everyone was digesting their dinner when suddenly – surprise! – the singing waiters appeared. Within minutes, the whole room was up on their feet. Napkins were flying, folk were dancing, and Amy and Kaine ended up standing on chairs, belting out tunes with massive grins on their faces. That’s the kind of energy you dream of capturing as a wedding photographer in Dundee – pure joy, pure chaos, pure fun.
The evening carried on back in the main hotel with cake cutting and a packed dancefloor. From start to finish, the day was full of genuine moments, big smiles, and that easy, relaxed vibe that just sums up Amy and Kaine perfectly.
