If you’re looking for the perfect Scottish wedding venue with charm, history, and stunning gardens, then Glamis House in Angus should definitely be on your list! I recently had the pleasure of photographing Rachel and Jason’s gorgeous DIY summer wedding here, and it was nothing short of beautiful.

Rachel and Jason’s wedding day was one of those rare, perfect June days – warm sunshine, blue skies, and a gentle breeze that made everything feel extra special. The couple and their families had the full experience of Glamis House, staying in the venue in the lead-up to the big day. This meant a relaxed morning of preparations, with no rushing between locations – just pure excitement and joy in the air. While the ladies were getting their hair and makeup done, Jason had his first experience wearing a kilt.

The ceremony took place in the gardens, a private setting surrounded by lush greener. What made it even more special was that Rachel’s Dad, who is a minister, officiated the wedding. It added such a personal touch, with laughter and a few happy tears.

After the ceremony, everyone enjoyed drinks in the gardens, soaking in the glorious weather while we captured some candid and formal portraits. Glamis House provides so many picture-perfect backdrops – from the grandeur of the house itself to the large gardens. Rachel and Jason's dog Willow also featured with her tartan bow.

One of the most unique aspects of this wedding was the meal – prepared by family members. The scent of delicious Indian food filled the house, with slow cookers bubbling away, making the celebration feel even more intimate and special.

Rachel and Jason’s wedding was everything a Scottish summer wedding should be – warm, joyful, and full of love. It was an absolute privilege to capture their day, and Glamis House provided the most incredible setting for their celebration.
