Erin and Blair's Beautiful Wedding at Birkhill Castle, Fife was a day of summer sunshine, stunning floral vibes, and a Scottish castle backdrop – basically a wedding photographer's dream!

Back in June, I had the absolute pleasure of capturing Erin and Blair’s incredible wedding at the stunning Birkhill Castle in Fife. If you're looking for a wedding photographer or videographer in Fife, this is the kind of day that makes me love what I do – beautiful moments, an unforgettable venue, and a super lovely couple. Birkhill Castle is one of those venues that feels both grand and intimate at the same time. Erin and Blair were lucky enough to have the entire day unfold in and around this beautiful, private castle, with the ceremony taking place outdoors and stunning views of the Tay River in the background. It’s the kind of venue that can make anyone feel like royalty, and I was thrilled to be the one capturing the memories. Erin’s love for flowers truly set the tone for the day. The floral arrangements were breath-taking, with pops of colour everywhere, from the bouquets to the names.

The day kicked off with bridal prep in the castle. Erin was surrounded by her bridesmaids and Mum, and the atmosphere was filled with excitement. What made it even more special was Erin’s decision to do a first look with her Dad on the grand staircase. It was such a beautiful, emotional moment – one of those moments you know will stay with them forever. You can see the bond they share in the photos, and it’s exactly why I love capturing those little intimate moments. Meanwhile Blair and his Groomsmen were getting ready downstairs and were outside serving up drinks to guests before the ceremony.

As the ceremony time approached, the weather was absolutely perfect. Erin and Blair said their vows outdoors, surrounded by nature and their loved ones. The venue was made for moments like this, and the ceremony was filled with smiles, laughter, and a few happy tears. and having their dog, Ozzy, there made it even better. Ozzy was definitely the third star of the show – enjoying all the attention from the guests.

After the ceremony, we organised a dramatic confetti shower and big group shot then made use of the gardens of Birkhill Castle for photos while the guests enjoyed some canapes and drinks in the sun. It was the perfect spot for photos. Erin and Blair were so relaxed. Once the photos were done, it was time for drinks and mingling.

The reception took place in a marquee, beautifully decorated with more floral touches. There were a few speeches followed by dinner. As if this day wasn’t already unique enough, a French TV company showed up to film Erin and Blair’s Scottish castle wedding for a segment they were doing about romantic weddings in Scotland.

To top off an already incredible day, Erin and Blair had a ceilidh in the evening, the floor of the marquee was bouncing! Everyone got involved, dancing and laughing, and it was the perfect way to end the day. If you're planning a Scottish wedding, I highly recommend a ceilidh – it's such a fun, traditional way to get everyone on their feet and celebrating.
